Leading fast-fashion brand New Look now has great new space to store clothing prior to being dispatched to its busy outlets. Commercial construction specialist, Chalcroft, has just completed a £5m project to extend warehouse facilities at the retailer’s Newcastle-Under-Lyme distribution centre.
The project, which began in autumn 2017, also saw the creation of additional office space arranged over two storeys, alongside more than 7,000m2 of additional warehouse space. Chalcroft first had to reconfigure the site’s car parking so that the extension could be built, and install new drainage systems.
Chalcroft Contracts Manager, Mike Davies said, “The story began with the work to create the space for the extension. From there, we built the extension so that it blended in with the existing building.
“The project has moved forward through a combination of detailed planning, careful scheduling and constant communication with the client throughout, so that everyone knew where we were, what we were doing next and how we would implement this significant project with no disruption to New Looks’ everyday operations.”
New Look is an international multichannel retail brand, offering exciting, on-trend, value-fashion for women, men and teenage girls, and is the UK’s No. 1 retailer for women under 35.
